Good grief!
As far as I know, the voting initiative that you refer to is one suggested in California. It has to do with that state's politics only, and is not an official position of the Democratic Party. From what I can tell, it might be an attempt to get the grown-ups to vote, since the participation of adults in elections in California is plummetting. If Old Man Magillicutty think the paperboy will be able to vote for a skate park, maybe he will go to the polls to vote against it. The key words in the previous sentence: "maybe he will go to the polls".
It's only a suggestion for an experiment in a state that loves to screw around with the rules.
Now, what does this have to do with liberals, Democrats, people who live in Hawaii, or people currently running for office?
Do you think that the US Constitution could actually be amended to give the vote to 16-year-olds? Do you think that Americans want that? Do you think that this is even the shadow of a remotely viable possibility to achieve real power? Do you think the parents of America would permit this kind of thing???
All that stuff about media influence over the voting public must refer to the influence of talk radio. I mean, we have a bunch of grown-ups in this country who proudly call themselves ditto-heads. Please don't interrupt Rush; he's telling them what to think.
All you have really said is that you don't think that kids would vote for the current administration, given the opportunity. I agree that American kids are pretty smart, so you've got me there.
