The little annoying thought I keep having is why so many people judge intelligence by superficials?
I know that at the core liberals believe they are universally smarter than conservatives. Fine. I've learned to live with that.
But are people really judging Kerry and Bush by how smoothly they can sling the words? By who speaks more eloquently, and makes the fewest verbal errors? By voice tone?
Cheney has "gravitas." How do you tell? He speaks slowly and deliberately, and has a lower voice than Edwards. Oh, really? So this is how you tell he's smarter than Bush?
Do you realize that not one person has ever submitted the slightest bit of evidence that Kerry has an IQ higher than 100? Grades, or anything else? Does anyone care that his famous "plans" don't hold together at all? That he has no consistent position on anything other than a desire to get elected? There's nobody IN that suit.
I suppose it really doesn't matter. It helps Kerry a great deal, since I'm sure a lot of voters think on this level.
