Bush is responsible for removing Saddam Hussein from power. Despite what Edwards says the man was attacking Americans every day for almost 10 years he shot at our planes flying overhead. He sponsored Palestinian suicide bombers in Israel and mass murdered far more folks than shown suffering as a response to the US invasion and bombing in the Michael Moore agit-prop film Fahrenheit 9/11.
Bush took the war on terror from the inaccessible mountainous regions of Afghanistan and into the center of the Middle East, Iraq, following the terrorists that fled Afghanistan.
Bush frightened Libya into thinking they were next and revealing their own WMD program.
Bush has completely removed our dependance upon Saudi soil for Middle East operations and the influence they have on American Middle East policy because of it.
Bush chose Cheney not some trial lawyer who speaks to the dead to line his pockets and is used just to try and carry North Carolina or some sothern states.
Bush realizes that proactive preemption is a viable policy. Europe doesn't. Kerry doesn't-despite his fake talk tough words. Most liberals are still in complete denial of the level of ignorance that is motivating the anti-US/anti-western hordes in these regions.
Transforming the Middle East and (yes...even if it results in Iraqi civil war) reforming Iraq is a valid tactical strategy that has spared the US another 9/11. Folks may not notice, but we have made it to 2004 without another major attack on US soil. Had we comfortably folded our hands and stayed home, we would be looking at tens or posibly hundreds of thousands of casualties from city attacks as we awaited them. The Bush policy is to get the enemy to attack you where you want him too. It's much like getting a fighter to punch you on the shoulder instead of your jaw. It's smart--not stupid. Look at how the Chechnyans rebels struck Russia--hitting the most vulnerable--schoolchildren! As soon as the Russians pulled back it allowed the enemy to regather and strike.
The world condemns Israel for striking proactively and condemned Russia when it heavily attacked the Chechnyan insurgency. Only very slowly is it dawning that when they roll back the attack in the enemies turf--their civilians get slaughtered on the home turf. Islamofascism is all about martyrs striking the most innocent and the least able to defend themselves.
Until Islamofascist enemies' hatred is spent and generationally you take away their system of fundamentalist indoctrination they will remain an imminent threat.
The Michael Moore's of the world do their best to portray the US military as a group of bloodthirsty dumb----s who revel in blood and guts, while failing to reveal the true preemptive policy that had been embraced by Bush and executed by the administration. Moore's film successfully swayed enough folks (who are clueless as to true US foreign policy) and cause them to shriek as unintelligibly against George Bush as the Iraqi woman wondering where Allah went, just by showing some blood and guts and using the film as a shock treatment.
Bush isn't a great leader. He isn't the brightest bulb in his administration. He does recognize the wisdom of this proactive policy I have described and is the only politician who would have been brave enough to embark upon it. Gore would not have. Kerry will not embrace it.
To keep America safe now will require spilling a certain amount of blood. It's tragic. It's abhorrent. It seems somehow wrong, until one realizes that the alternative is even more wrong and will result in even more blood being spilled.
Let's be really blunt. America is undertaking the reformation of Islam. It's the only path to security. The reformation of Christianity made it safe for mankind to live free after the centuries of darkness and oppression in Europe. In the Middle East, many still have lived in this darkness and with a barbaric mindset. Yes...barbaric is exactly the right word. Democracy and capitalism and western education will eventually reform these folks. It will take a lot longer than Germany or Japan. The raw material we are working with is still centuries behind what these nations were at when we defeated their armies.
Europe doesn't want to help the region. They want their maids and janitors dumb--thank you very much. They want their tyrants rich and don't care about weapons proliferation so long as they are at the front of the gravy train.
Yes, it requires brains to see this big picture. Bush wasn't the mastermind of the policy--but he was smart enough and politically naive enough to embrace it, despite it's political liability. Someday hundreds of years from now George Bush will have a statue in a westernized, intelligent and educated Iraq. In the meantime the illiterate across the world will scream and shout and wonder what the hell is going on and blame George Bush for creating the iunsurgency.
In my opinion that's like blaming Martin Luther for the Spanish Inquisition.
Kerry's a lightweight. The epitome of the morally vacuous self-serving politician. His selection of Edwards, another morally vacuous lightweight, is par for the course for him.
The left can't handle the truth because they are living in denial. They live in the world of universal equanimity where all religions are equal, all people are equal, are sexual practices are equal, all nations are equal and in their world their 'bad' guys are defined as anyone who points out the fallaciousness of this worldview.
