Looks like you won't need to worry about the US limiting stem cell research for religious reasons.

Two others: If someone is not an American citizen, he doesn't have legal rights; torture can be an acceptable instrument of American intelligence agencies if American law is defined narrowly enough.

We may very well have turned a corner. We may not be looking at the destination promised, though.
