MA:
I have noticed that, much to my own discredit, the quality of my rhetoric and the articulation of my reasoning is directly related to the quality of the post/poster I am responding to. Yours, much to your credit, either stays invariant over the spectrum. I think it is reflective of a patience or tolerance that I have never had.
I will add a bit to your excellent post, but just a bit because I was (a) invited and (b) I don't want to dilute the 'mana'.
The scientific method is open to popular vote. One need only look at the body of work concerning Global warming to prove this point.
I'll turn that one over to Davin and to R.L.
WRT to the scientific method: I think the need to comment is related to the audience. That statement is quite likely to evoke derisive giggles around any group of people who have had to participate in any peer review process. It is most certainly NOT democratic, to both a fault and to its credit! Besides, G is confusing how the scientific community reviews, rejects and vetts scientific research with the actual scientific discovery process. Its obvious that G knows about as much of the Scientific Method as Ghandi know about grilling steaks. IE, he has never participated in laboratory science.
As to his comic assay of the data on Global Warming, he is exhibiting ignorance again. I think RLs post last month exhibited the data plainly and clearly, with ample references, explication and even color charts and graphs. G is a believer, not a thinker, as his posts in just this thread demonstrate, and I have no desire to correct him except to say that he should go back in his browser and, if he has the brains and conviction to do so, support his rather silly inference about the quality of the science behind global warming.
So I will say this, G, Go back, read the thread, and then stand behind your claims of knowledge here. Go tell us what is wrong eith the science, or the reasoning behind the data presented there.
I'm waiting.
"Yes. You illustrate where the true values of ThePeople lie. We pay for what we value.
"
THATS a ten-point landing. Well done.
