The point is that, surely global warming exists. The question is: "What causes global warming?"

There are several major factors that are completely and forever beyond human control:

1. The variation in output of the Sun.
2. The oscillation in the Earth's orbital and spin parameters.
3. The motion of the tectonic plates and resulting change in continental shape, location, and altitude.
4. Vulcanism.

We add our effects to these. The importance of our effects is still unanswered, especially considering the huge causes listed above. The Earth is in an interglacial period right now. This interglacial period is in the midst of an ice age that has lasted for two million years. The Earth's climate is always changing, the current climate is just happenstance and will not persist, no matter what we do.
