BDS on this board is relatively scarce. Lindy has it in spades. You don't. It's a lot more prevalent a few other places.
Someone can discuss a subject like, "There should have been more armor available to our troops." Discussions can include issues like bureaucratic failures, procurement and manufacturing problems, political mistakes, armor types, and other things.
It becomes obvious very quickly when someone isn't firing at the issue, but firing at the Bush administration. They are interested in no aspects of the issue except those where the conclusion is political. Back during the armor discussion, nobody wanted to hear anything about simple bureaucratic and procurement screwups, or that the problem was actually being handled better than the newspapers let on. It was that damn Rumsfeld! It had to be!
Surely you have seen posts where it's apparent that the person cares a lot less about the actual issue than about nailing Bush or a member of his administration to the wall? Others signs are a lot of insults, accusations, and often small flecks of foam around the lips.
Valerie Plame was a dead issue until someone smelled Rove's blood in the water. Now we are treated to Democrats wailing about the well-being of the CIA, an agency some of them tried to cripple, and even abolish back in the 1980s. When Philip Agee is lecturing us on leaking agent names, what are we supposed to conclude? That he's an objective, reasonable person?
The issues of the day for the Democratic Party are only those where they think they can score political points on Bush. Show me an exception, if you can.
This monomaniacal thinking is not confined to Bush, of course. There were significant amounts of "Clinton Derangement Syndrome" during his administration. It isn't even restricted to politics. I can think of a few examples on this board where almost any space issue is turned around and used to flog a particular agenda.
Now, if you want to give me a try on an issue, go for it.
