SDAITech1 hopes we won't notice that he's a hatemonger simply because he tarts up his words in that saccharine, smarmy tone in which he basically professes to hate the sin but love the sinner. Nobody buys it when the religious right denies responsibility for its homophobia with that evasion; nobody will buy it when Techie denies his hatred of the poor with his own version of that spin. Dying wretchedly in a hurricane is not for their own good. You can't build character in somebody who's dead.
