This ID concept has the potential to backfire on it's progenitors (the Christian group funded Discovery Institute). Anyone could come along and create a new religion based on an Intelligent Designer - one that does not necessarily share its core values with Christianity.
At my non-profit "Designer Institute" the entry level curriculum would be the same as any other university science program - except that any reference to "chance" or "change" would be substituted with "plan". When the student reaches the highest level (borrowing heavily from Scientology here) the "secret" is revealed that a kind of magic called "Random Events" is all part of the Plan.
