It's complete BS

He's used some sort of bas-relief artifacting of the SOHO imagery and movies to give the appearance of a solid surface where there is none.

An iron crust simply can't exist in those temperatures. Iron's melting point is 2800 degrees Fahrenheit with a boiling point of 5182 degrees. The coolest points on the sun (4000 Kelvin or 6740 Fahrenheit) well exceed the boiling point of iron.

While my own theories about solar structure differ to a large degree from the current gas ball model, it's easy to rule out the sun concealing a surface. The sun's magnetic phenomenon are polarity driven. The magnetic band of high activity around the center reveal that the sun is like a giant field driven by rotating currents of energy.

When one understands that suns are part of a larger structure-a galaxy-one realizes that it is a demodulator of galactic motion and energy. The sun's stability and regularity can be understood when one sees it as part of a system.

Star formation is galactic driven. Condensation of gases throughout the galaxy is spurred by galactic energy/matter rotation. The suns appear with greatest density and clusters on the galactic arms because this is where the energy needs to be demodulated/dispersed.

It's all about balance. The sun and other stars are parts of a galactic system which demodulate energy generate on a much larger scale. The galaxies themselves are the byproduct of this same rotation and condensation of energy into atomic structures.

Energy is never static. The magnetic energy of the universal scale movement of energy forms galaxies, and magnetic energy generated from galactic motion must disperse somewhere as well. It disperses via stars. Suns can be seen as a whole bunch of dipole magnetic fields.

Not surprisingly, solar systems form planets. Energy/matter is condensing here.

Universal Motion
Galactic Motion
Solar Motion
Planetary Motion
Plant/Animal Motion

The motion generates ever more complex combining of atoms capable of expressing energy in new and unique ways: evolution of energy.

I admit that takes a somewhat broad perspective to try and conceive. But when one does see it, the sun's formation, magnetic output and regularity is much easier understood.
