>"Those against the Iraq war have rationalized their dislikes. They justify the venture as a failure because of continued unrest and killing in Iraq."
DING DING DING
Wrong!
We were against it because it was pre-emptive, and against international law. The justifications for it were flimsy. We knew it. Bush knew it.
But spoiled rotten GWBush took the silver spoon out of his mouth long enough to declare war and send us all into the breech, while he pulled out his six guns and his arrogance and went to war. WE knew the unrest and the killing were to come.
And oh, by the way.....your line about how this war will make Iraq a lovely place in just a few more years just got shot down:
White House to Withdraw Funding for Rebuilding Iraq
Jan. 3, 2006
>"It is no secret that reconstruction has gone badly. Essential services have been very slow in coming back on line and roughly half the money earmarked for reconstruction has been diverted into the military effort against the insurgency.
In future it will be up to other foreign donors and the Iraqi government to do what it can to complete basic tasks such as supplying reliable electricity and water to the country's 26 million people.
The output of Iraq's national electrical grid is also lower than it was PRIOR to the invasion."
There you go, there's your "intelligent" President clearing space over there for evolution......
