re: Not what I said.

Let's see. The portion of the military that would be computer literate and into creating blogs (generally the ones with better language skills) would probaly tend to be the more educated of the bunch. They'd be the ones that more likely possessed the people and persuasion skills that would keep them farther from the worst of the action. I'd be wary about simply basing your assumptions of how things are going in Iraq for the "average" soldier by what you read on blogs just as I shouldn't base my impression on our success there by the blogs I read critical of the efforts there. The other factor you must include when reading blogs from military personnel is that they are sworn to loyalty to the commander in chief and that action may be taken against them (with no Constitutional guarantees a civilian has) if some leader decides they're crossing the line.

The UCMJ is a scary thing to live under because it gives so much power to individuals that outrank you. It's as if every person around you with one more stripe has that power of judge, jury, and executioner should they desire to press their power. Sometimes the system can shut them down and sometimes they have enough clout or seniority up the chain of command that you're basically screwed.

Tom, I appreciate the reply you sent. It was without inflammatory language and had good arguments. You're still wrong but you're evolving.
