Just to clarify:

The article was about a growing trend for MARRIED women with no fertility problems and who are planning to stay married, to elect to be artificially inseminated with their own husband's sperm, rather than concieving through having actual sex with their husband.

Not an issue of single women deciding better on their own than never, or better than the bother of a relationship. These are married women who are fine with the relationship and the kid, but are too busy with their careers for the time and bother of intercourse.
