re: Kids do best with two parents.

To some degree, if the kids are adaptable, having second homes and a second set of "parents" actually gives them an advantage on life. They learn to be "fair and balanced"....that is IF their respective sets of parents are fair and balanced.

Not true. I have never run across a kid spread across two homes who doesn't wish her mom and dad were together instead.

Much of what is written about how great single parents, full-time day care, and "healthy" divorces are is born of massive self-justification.

Yes, but they CAN finish, often with honors.

No argument, but starting behind the line is still starting behind the line.

You underestimate women. Guess you've never met some truly independent women.....then again, how would you know to deal with them?? There is a new breed of women out there who are financially and psychologically independent. They scare the hell out of most men.
And it takes a special type of man to appreciate and trust her, work with her. She doesn't need "support", financial or otherwise.

Like I said. It's about her, not the kid. People have to work to raise families, and there's nothing wrong with careers at all, but when the balancing is done, and "self-realization"--for a man or a woman--comes before your kid, the kid is in trouble.
