Only the first story is about having babies after 50, and is really relevant to our discussion about what's good for kids versus self-actualization. Never mind that there's no father--she will be 73 when her youngest is old enough to leave home, if she makes it that far. Natasja had better take good care of her brother. She may end up raising him.
Again, a sterling example of "what do I want?" instead of "what would be best for the child?"
In fact, her example is worse, because she had a choice, unlike those who are thrust into single motherhood or other unpleasant circumstances through no fault of their own.
The other two stories seem to be about women in later life with kids that are grown, and I have no problems at all with them reinventing themselves, or finding new careers. More power to them, indeed. I think the jazz singer's husband is a bit of a jerk.
