Math....
Volume of polar ice caps = 'V'... 3*10^7 cubic kilometers...
area of the oceans, 'A'....~3.6 *10^8 square kilometers...
How much that the oceans will rise from complete melting of ice caps='D'...
V=A*D
D=V/A
D=3/3.6 *10^-1 km...
Even if my source is off by an order of magnitude, this has got to strike you as significant...
It may be 2 mm a year now, but global warming is accelerating... as will the melting...
:) feel free to ignore it further- why stop now?
http://hypertextbook.com/facts/index-topics.shtml is where I got my numbers...
