re: Non-reproducing members of a species
I was only stating my opinion that gays should not be given special status, apart from any other non-reproducing member of society, e.g. single men or women, since they have yet to define a role to justify it. Some people think love is good enough, but in Canada, as far as I know there are significant tax breaks for married people. Money is money. People work hard for it, and it's got nothing to do with love. There is nothing stopping them from pairing off. I just don't think the state should recognize that kind of relationship until they can find a reason for it.
