necessary or not?
A certain company I know is going to do some kind of name-screening. They will do this on every customer name, every employee name, every 3rd party vendor name, and every payor name on every remittance that it receives. It will be a daily process to screen new names as they hit the system. And there will be another bi-weekly process to screen every name in the company as the database of names to compare against is updated bi-weekly.
The screening process takes place in 3rd-party soft and 3rd-party database. Where the names come from in that database is not known at my level. Details about the 3rd-party are non-existant at my level.
No feedback reporting is defined (at my level). I do not know if there is any feedback to this company. I have no info on what happens when a hit is found. I have no information that the info we send will only be used for a search or if it will be captured.
Assuming, for the sake of argument, that you are a customer, there is no disclosure that this process will take place. How do you feel about it if you find out?
