I get along just fine with dogs. I own one. I like cats too, but prefer petting the neighbor cats to actually owning one myself.
The problem was how I worded my response, diving right into my results. This is how I started the post:

As far as I was concerned, ER, who I don't know from Adam (yet), and whose posts so far have seemed quite reasonable and insightful, was relevant to my response only insofar as he simply brought the subject up.
I have gotten in trouble here more than once assuming people would follow a jump that I thought was more obvious than it turned out to be on a second look.
And admittedly, alacaray pretty much tossed raw meat right in front of my cage.
