I find it informative that some of the most bitter and verbiose animosity here is reserved for liberal vs. liberal fighting. You vs. Davin, RL vs. Lindy, RL vs. Johannes, etcetera.
Tom attracts fire for his views, but that's because he doesn't change them like other folks change underwear, to accomodate the latest media-driven spin. Even you are beginning to soften under Tom's relentless rationed rationality.
Tom's points were quite valid. The left is rewriting history as much as possible. The all-time greatest victory in this regard is "forgetting" the WMD activities that Saddam pursued post 1991 - after the gulf war. (Note: The above is a CIA link and lots of information will be gathered about your system, location, etcetera when you visit. ;-)
ER seems honest (or carefully concealed) in his political views and motivations and an honest view here that is not yet polarized is subject to the forces of polarization that seek clear lines of demarcation.
It's fun to watch. (sort of ;-)
