re: None of the 9/11 hijackers were from Iraq.

"Put that pseudoconnection to bed once and for all."

I didn't say 911 hijackers. So, you aren't putting anything to bed. 911 hijackers did not fail to bring the World Trade Center down. The foreign agents that attempted to blow up the World Trade Center in February 26, 1993, didn't achieve their objective.

"This reviewer believes that Mylroie has correctly pinpointed Saddam Hussein as the source of terrorist attacks on Americans, including the World Trade Center bombing and the attempted assassination of former president George H. W. Bush. The Clinton administration, wittingly or unwittingly, has chosen the path of self-delusion: to not investigate the matter seriously. In this way, unpleasant policy options have not been articulated and discussed. Yet, the failure of U.S. officials to address the question of state sponsorship of terrorism will have significant future costs. It encourages future terrorist attacks by eliminating the costs of retribution from the calculations of leaders such as Saddam Hussein."

I agree that there is not enough evidence to say that Saddam Hussein was involved in the 911 attack.
But there things we do know. We know Hussein declared many times after the Gulf I war that he was at war with America. We know Hussein gained power by murdering his opponents- he wasn't in power because any political skill or even any miltary skill, he was in power because he killed people and threaten to kill people. His expertise was in covert operation, his power was expressed by secret police or simply hired criminals. His covert operations does mean he wouldn't openly kill people- he enjoyed doing this. But he did both, kill people so that their families didn't know they were dead and made a public show of killing people. Hussein controlled Iraq by using Terrorism.
We know Hussein had the motive and the means of conducting 911 attacks. We know there was some connections between Bin Laden organization.

And unlike such characters as Bin Laden or Zarqawi, Hussein has the real "street cred" as a terrorist. Bin Laden or Zarqawi are more posers than real thing- they mostly political leaders.
There is no "mastermind" behind Hussien. Hussien simply doesn't trust anyone, and he wants the be the movie star, the general, now, the great lawyer, or whatever he thinks is important at the moment. Hussien controls by fear whereas Bin Laden or Zarqawi might mostly rely on hiring people who control by fear, but they are in power because of their persuasive/political skill- unlike Hussien.
