Yep, and the fact that the media focus on the bad, not the good, is as utterly predictable and expectable as the fact that there is sand in Iraq. Just as news in the US rarely carry any reports about, "doctor saves patient's life", but will devote an hour long special to "Doctor removes head by mistake!" or "Pap smear scandal! Film at 11!". And that the media in unfriendly countries will be even less fair is just as expectable.
I'm only slightly more sympathetic to complaints about media behavior than to complaints about the weather. If your war plan assumes fair, helpful, and friendly media coverage -- and fails to consider the possibility that unfair media coverage will result in a net loss strategically -- then shame on the planner. You might as well assume balmy breezes and ice cream stands every kilometer.
