I served in the USAF for 7 years, '64 - '71, having enlisted just two weeks before the mythical "Gulf of Tonkin incident" which plunged the United States into the disaster known as the Viet Nam conflict.
I did not serve in Viet Nam, but rather - as I like to put it - on the front lines of the Cold War. I was a linguist and analyst, eventually rising to the top analytical position of my outfit, with an "unequaled" record of performance, according to my boss.
Yes, I am a dove, but one with eagle eyes.

My last previous post here, "Vindication Again," (URL anyone?) dealt with that pesky item in the news recently - obvious inconsistencies in the statements of NORAD officials concerning the events of 911, and the failure to intercept any of the skyjacked jetliners.
If established procedures had been followed that day, all of the skyjacked airliners would have been intercepted, and possibly stopped.
