That was TWA Flight 800.
I'm not up to speed on that issue right now and don't plan on getting there again any time soon. However, relying on my not always reliable memory, I seem to recall that the last-ditch defense of those arguing against the missile theory - including, prominently, one regular here - was the (apparent) lack of high-speed projectile damage/wounds consistent with a warhead detonation. Then it came out that such evidence had been suppressed, and that's where I left it.
The old saw "You can't fight City Hall" applies. Sometimes these crooked deals rot from within and all the lies spill out, and sometimes they don't. Many of the great lies from WWII, for example, are still intact, and there are some whoppers.
Just one final comment for now. Gen. W. Clark recently noted that an Israeli defense official was giving Powerpoint presentations of the current invasion of Lebanon more than a year ago. Apparently, the IDF was merely waiting for a convenient provocation, or the right time.
I fear there is more trouble ahead - big trouble.
