Well, I served in Vietnam.
Well, I did try to get a student deferment, but got turned down, so I enlisted.
Spent six months on electrical duty on the U.S.S. Gridley. Tried to get into swift boat service, which I had been told was safe duty. Who knew they were going to change the mission on me?
Spent four months in actual combat, until I got my three Purple Hearts, and bailed.
To hear me talk now, though you'd think I was Rambo. I like the term "chickenhawk" a lot.
