...Christians who were apocalyptic.
It's plain to see how fearmongers cash-in on the human trait of hysteria.
1998-2000
Millennium Bug Hysteria:
"The end is coming! Computers will crash, hospitals will go dark! There will be riots in the streets! By our survival kit, radiation detector and prepare for Armageddon!
2000
Presidential Election Hysteria:
"There will be anarchy! Government will cease to function! Looting in the streets! Public rebellion! Then the black helicopters will come and take everyone away to secret prisons built underneath all McDonalds! Buy our book/CD and learn how to prepare for the end!"
2004
Bush Election Hysteria:
Republican will declare martial law and keep us all from voting! They will do prison/background/legal citizen/palimony computer checks when you vote! Black Hummers will patrol the streets! RUN! RUN! Dig a hole under your house, line it with our special GOP-shield (which looks amazingly like aluminum foil) and hide from Cheneys eavesdropping devices and black helicopters!"
2006
Israel Biblical Hysteria:
"The latter days are here! Israel will start WWIII! Head to the hills and stock up on armor piercing ammo! Flee! FLEE! A friend of a friend saw our nuclear bombers warming up on an airfield in Imaginarysville, Ohio! Go to your church, tithe well, and repent! Otherwise you won't be taken with the rapture and will burn in atomic fire!!"
Exploiting the hysterical has been done since humans began to gather together. If you really want to be safe from these hysteria exploiters I can tell you more in my new book.
