No military service

I have stated numerous times that I was student deferred and glad to be so at the time.

How about you bunky? It cuts both ways you know. You have on different occasions implied everything from being an ex-POW to not having served at all. Why not end the speculation by telling us when, where and if you served?

Lack of previous military service is not a litmus test for the right to an opinion nor does it mean that the non-vet can't appreciate the horror of war. I believe that several of our wartime presidents have been what you refer to as chickenhawks. Lincoln had less than 2 months service with no combat. Woodrow Wilson was a chickenhawk. Roosevelt chose not to serve in WWI. and LBJ was a desk jockey.

I would be happy to offer my mostly used up life and limb at random for the loss of younger men. An empty gesture of course.
