I suspect we will not be motivated to do dedicated missions to the moon...

...to support astronomy.

Some day, if we have lunar infrastructure to support a large, continuing manned presence we will do astronomy there. And at that time we will not limit ourselves to astronomy for which the moon is the optimal location (any more than we would never build an IR or UV scope on earth because space is so much better for that).
