There is a notion of interdependent origination, which posits the unity between cause and effect, and observer and observed- Effect may have a Cause and Subject may have Object, but their relation is non-discreet, IE- not seprable. Their existence is not contingent, but interdependent. Not going to fall into the cognitive idiot-trap of saying 'ah-ha! this is what they meant!'- Just that a theme can repeat itself on many modes of disciplined, rigorous Inquiry.
Buddhist metaphysics (in so much as there is some that does not excessively rely on certain supernatural notions) Is significantly less idiotic than the 2-dimensionsional than the Crystal Nuts and the UFOol types interpretation of it.
I once had a stupid crystal nut tell me how Buddhism had it right because they didn't have dogma like the bible... That the any 'truth that can be said is not truth'. If historical account is accurate Buddha himself dictated, I believe, 8 seperate treatises while he lay slowly dying from tainted food, and Buddhism has the largest core corpus of philopsophical literature of any major world religion. They even had Logical systems nearly as consistent and expressive as Aristotelian logic... Something the West never surpassd until the late 19th century or early 20th.
I still think the western mode of analysis, post scholastic/christian phase is definatley more productive and less prone to infinite tail-chasing. Rambling, though, should conclude.
