I would disagree with this:

We may not be able to "make sense" of it, but we have been able to define some of it's parameters. Thoughts are things. Neuroscientists have been able to direct thoughts to activate computers and attached mechanical limbs, etc. We just haven't figured out it's mechanism that we can rely on yet.
