Another way to save energy.
Another thing that might help is to stop shipping everything everywhere. For example, we ship rice to China and China ships rice to us. What a waste.
Closer to home, instead of having one plant that makes something and ships it all over the country, have smaller plants located in strategic places all over the country.
Sure, some things are made close to where their raw resources come from, and some food can only be grown in certain places, but it is a waste to ship oranges to Texas from Florida when they grow oranges here in Texas.
I bet we would all be surprised at how much of this waste goes on.
