Massive new taxes and regulations are going to knock out the middle and lower ends of the economic scale first. Nobody flirting with the poverty line is going to be buying a hybrid any time soon.
The rich will be in their Teslas, and buying their indulgences. The rest are going to be hit hard.
I've always been amazed at the number of people who scream about the oil companies ripping off the little guy at the gas pump, and then turn around and propose huge taxes on gasoline. Does anybody ever actually think about this stuff?
I think once the average American realizes what's going to be done to them, and why, there's going to be a considerable backlash.
