True. To blame Ford would be to blame science and progress. I think science, progress, and even the car has helped us more than it hurt us. We can’t stop progress nor should we try.
Very soon I am going to trade in my 2001 Chrysler Concord for a pre-70’s Volkswagen Bug. My wife thought I was nuts at first, but I explained to her that those old cars can get very good gas mileage and they are easy to maintain. I can work on a Bug’s engine. I can’t work on the Concord’s engine. Give me a simpler car. And I think they are neat cars.
I am also trying to get a job in Downtown Houston where I can take the bus. I did that for the five years I previously worked downtown. I currently have a 15 mile commute (One way). My worst was a 42 mile commute (one way) I did 3 years ago.
