re: Who buys the commuter car?
Where I live, most commuters can afford a commuter car. They about run me over in their SUV’s, 4 door pickups, Lexus and BMW’s.
We don’t have a lot of public transportation options in Houston. Basically if you work downtown you can take the bus, else you must drive. However, I see lots of folks driving downtown because they don’t want to give up the freedom of their car.
And I think that is the problem most Americans have with public transportation- giving up their car freedom.
What did you think of my using high speed trains as car ferries?
