Something I've been curious about for many years is why so many people who are surly about being "enslaved" to employers have no problems at all being enslaved to the government?
I hear endless about corporations keeping us downtrodden wage slaves, as though there was only one job or one place to work in the U.S., but turning over our lives over to a government monopoly? Sure, why not?
Where does this mindset come from?
Is it because government is occupied by paragons of incorruptible virtue and intelligence, while our businesses are founded and run by idiots? Is it because people like to imagine they have more influence on lifetime bureaucrats and politicians two thousand miles away than we do on how our workplace operates?
Or is it just a mental block large enough to possess a measurable gravity field?
Just as an aside, do you think our modern worker productivity is because the modern American worker has been genetically reengineered to perform ten times the tasks in the same time? Or is it because genius and capital investment have made it possible for one person to do what it used to take dozens?
Another aside: Do you think those pushing a government takeover of the medical system are going to stop there?
