You touch on my main point.
This controversy is not about government providing assistance to people who can't afford health care for one reason or another. I have few problems with such things.
It's about the actual motive, which is to gather all health care into a Federal government monopoly, and wipe out the private insurance system.
The actions along these lines in this particular piece of legislation are painfully obvious, deliberately ranging the program into areas where it is not needed.
