Yes. Avoid unpleasant facts. Or any facts.
You really don't know anything about the SCHIP program.
When we went over this issue before, it was pointed out that the problem was not the SCHIP itself, which has been steadily funded for years (there are twice as many children in the program now than there were at the beginning of the Bush administration), but the sneaky expansion of the program to try to absorb a portion of the population that doesn't really need it, and to make the government program more appealing than private solutions already being used. Earlier attempts to expand Medicare eligibility fall under this category. I figured the Democrats weren't kidding anyone with this, but apparently I was wrong.
The Democrats are counting on enough Americans to be too damn dumb to see anything past the surface of this: "It's for the children!!"
Fact: Children are not going to "suffer or needlessly die" because the coverage is not expanded to incomes of $80,000 and "children" as old as 25.
I hope you got that rant out of your system for a while about what an Evil Person I am. It added nothing relevant to the discussion, and I've heard worse things directed at me for the crime of not believing socialism is equivalent to charity.
Congratulations on your donation. Believe me, you're exactly the kind of person MoveOn.org is looking for.
