Because like you say we've been over this before and you know as well as anyone else that a great many of the costs we currently have go away in a universal system. Your beloved free enterprise becomes more so as corporations no longer have to shoulder the burden of health care. Many of those children that get covered start getting PREVENTATIVE care instead of waiting for that extremely costly emergency room visit when things get overwhelming.
And Tom, the industry I work for right now that employs millions of people spinning their wheels trying to make some sense out of the overly complex medical billing system that has evolved, no longer need to take their huge share of the pot. The money goes from the tax revenue to the national treasury to the doctors as it should. Yeah it's expensive but guess what? It's expensive now except all those costs and more are spread all over the country and paid by every last one of us.
Your figures only tell a tiny portion of the story as always and once again shows your lack of understanding in a complex issue.
Nice to see you're starting to regain your propensity for being the first to jump drooling on an issue someone brings up that runs counter to your Libertarian greed. But if you're ready to get pummeled again then I say go for it. The 21 Democratic Senators today that voted to condemn MoveOn.org for calling it like they saw it and exercising their 1st Amendment right and my own 2 Senators McCain and Kyl voting against restoring Habeas Corpus has tended to boil my blood and I'm itching for a fight with anyone that gets in my way.
