No of course not Tom. The ultimate goal is universal single payer health care and I don't know anyone that's hiding that. It's the only solution that works, not Hillary's plan, or Edward's plan, or Romney's plan. They all contain insurance companies that have no right to a single cent in this formula.
So would you prefer that we push to overnight simply eradicate an industry employing millions and just dump the whole thing on a government that has little experience in managing the infrastructure? Just maybe tackling an age group at a time in slow experimental steps as many states are trying might give us some insight into how to make the big leap.
And it's coming Tom. None of your statistics can stop it because the alternative is armed rebellion when the gap between the rich and poor, the insured and the uninsured gets so wide that emotion and hatred takes over political movement. It's coming when our largest corporations start going under one by one because they can no longer compete in an international marketplace with the burden of insuring their employees. It's coming when people like you start having your own insurance taken away because your risk factor removes you from the profit margin of the health insurance industry and you're faced with all the things you worked for over your productive life vanishing with a single misfortune or illness.
So quit your whining and help us figure out how to get there because this is a tide you and your little beach shovel can't budge.
