The ozone hole changes have nothing to do with CFCs. That was a wild goose chase bought & paid for by those companies working on new refrigerants and propellants. And boy! Did they get filthy rich on the anti-CFC legislation!
The real formula for ozone breakdown and recombination isn't a chemical equation at all, it's a physics equation based upon the:
Charged particles (CP)
per cubic measurement of ozone (MO)
per time unit (TU)
CP*MO*TU
Such a formula could be used to calculate statistical collisions of charged particles with O3 molecules, as they flow along the magnetosphere lines of force. After awhile one would be able to calculate which seasons will have the ozone hole growing larger or smaller.
Layperson translation: The sun causes, and diminishes, the ozone holes. There were ozone holes growing and shrinking LONG before man arrived on the scene.
