"Glee" is the wrong word

But "glee" is the sort of word a rightwing authoritarian would use to paint me as malicious and petty, and you could see me "silently applauding" some random leftist blog post with no apparent connection to what I'm talking about.

And the definition is by no means hazy or "know it when I see it" arbitrary. Did you miss the reference to a very specific 14-point list, or the subset of 7 Trump evidences? Concepts like "extreme nationalism" and "racism" and scapegoating are not hazy concepts at all. All of them can be found in his public statements, and as for how "the US would fall to fascism under Trump", uh, well, isn't the power to put his agenda into practice the whole reason he's running for President?

That registry of Muslims doesn't strike you as fascist? Would the point be clearer if he advocated requiring Muslims to sew a yellow crescent moon to their clothing? Or the schtick about rounding up millions of members of one ethnic group and deporting them?

You did catch my interest with the line about how I need to look at fascism as an economic system to see how Trump fits in. I'm not sure I see how a wealthy businessman as head of state is incompatible with fascist doctrine, it seems rather to be completely consistent with the theme of integration between government and business.

But how about you elaborate on that point? I asked you earlier for your own definition of fascism, and this could be what I was looking for. Or, from another angle, you seem to disagree that Trump is a fascist, so what's your definition by which he fails the test?
