Re: oblivion
The universe doesn't give a shit about us. Any other attitude is just hubris on our part. Embrace Oblivion. It's not all that bad, just think of the alternative.
I just can't wrap my mind into such a narrow box. And how on earth could oblivion be worse than the alternative? Defining oblivion is much like defining non-existence -it's impossible because everything exists and things like "nothing" and "non-existence" are merely conceptual exercises and that's all they are.
No, logic dictates all aspects of the universe are eternal. Timeless, spaceless, facet - all components of a greater infinity. And infinity is the great equalizer. Humanity is of no less importance than anything else in the universe. All are interconnected, all are component parts of the greater uneneding whole.
When one sees time is an illusion, you start to really see that what exists NOW will ALWAYS exist.
You won't always be ER. You'll change. All energy changes. Even right now from one moment to the next you are not the same person. Is that constant change really so terrible? Not at all - that's the way the universe works. The ER of 5, 12, 20, 30 and 45 are entirely different people. Different goals and outlooks. Different quantities of experience powering their actions. Even most cells in your body have been completely torn down and reborn every 7 years.
Nah, oblivion is not to be feared. It, as a concept, is only destructive when it is used to control others or excuse negative and destructive acts. Nor is eternal change...which we are already learning to master.
