NAFTA

I'm sorry but we'll have to agree to disagree on this one. NAFTA shafted the entire country - blacks, whites, Hispanics, purples, just about anyone below the top 10% of earners in this country. When that occurs, it widened the gap between the haves and have nots. It was the Clinton's parting gift to the country along with some other things that helped to enable the neo-cons the rule they ended up with such as removing the restrictions on corporate media ownership. There were many things I liked about Bill's term in office but I never fully trusted him and never will.

Certainly economic growth took off during the Clinton's reign and I'm not disputing that because I truly feel that he probably in balance helped as much as he hurt. So much of the economic legacy of any president is their luck or misfortune on where they enter the giant economic sine wave of ups and downs. Bill rode his peak well but also helped set up the extremes of the lows we see today. In comparison to Bush he was a saint but you sound almost like an idol worshipper in your overlooking of his obvious flaws.

Believe me. I'm not becoming enamored of the dark side and Tom will be on my hit list more than he'll be defended but you went after the wrong issue here.
