If I knew where it was?
Based upon evidence you've provided, and using the resources of the GIS Unit, I've narrowed the location of your property to county, township, and town. (Nice town, too, been through there just once, but its view is not as great as yours, pool hall next to the fire house, turn the other way and there's that grocery...starts with a 'D'....) Pretty sure, now, of the ridge, even though you didn't tell me the exact street, you provided a clever riddle. Well done. And the red herrings, too. As I don't want to give it away to the viewing audience, I'll just say that the zip code reduces to the number 2 and the address reduces to 6.
I should have some geo maps of this area in my digital files. I'll send via Robert, as you don't live at the property, yet. Or, put up a mailbox and I'll send it there.
By the way, if you don't have your heart set on the design of your future home, there's this really cool modular log cabin place just over the state line into SC down 26. Last year we visited their factory and model homes and came away quite impressed. And tempted. It's not a kit, this thing goes up in a day.
Don't forget the museum at Spruce Pine. It's a longer drive, wait till the trees are flowering.
Have fun exploring.
