I still like Obama.

I probably won't vote for him but I still like him...

I can understand that he doesn't want to throw his freind overboard despite the fact that the freind has some very negative aspects...

I understand that Obama is a guy who wants to get along with people. That is a good thing. We all need more of that. Its called loyalty and it is something all of us need a little more of. But loyalty can go too far...

Obama really would make a great diplomat. He would almost certainly make a great Vice President where diplomatic skills are very useful in dealing with congress as well as foriegn dignitaries; and with that said, maybe someday he will make a great President.

But I am convinced that he is NOT the man for the job here and now.

In my mind I am certain that we don't want someone THAT Diplomatic to be the next President. At this point in history, we have serious issues that we have to confront. We have a war on terror and a war in Iraq that like it on not: We Must Win.

Diplomacy WILL be an important part of winning that war; however, we can't realistically expect diplomacy and "understanding" to solve all of the problems that we must confront in the process of winning.

Presidents have to make tough choices...Yes, we need a President who is a little more diplomatic and a lot less divisive than the current President...But we can't have a President that is SO Diplomatic that our diplomacy is pursued at the expense of all other objectives...Sometimes the President must be tough. He's got to take a stand. Sometimes he can't "just get along" with those who's world view is so skewed as to be irrational and even insane.

Obama hasn't shown the ability to take a stand on anything. Even blatent racism preached in the name of Christ gets a pass from Obama. Is that what we want from our next President?
