The line needs to be something like: Obama was preaching to the preacher...Because he has faith in the human spirit...If you truely believe in change then you must have hope that people can change whats in their hearts and souls.
Ok... We all know it would be bull excrament... But it would fit right in with his message of hope...He has the ability to seem naive to the evil that exists in the world, yet that naiveness is one of his most enduring qualities rather than a weakness...We all want to believe that there is goodness in people. Even those who hate like this preacher have promise and something to give, in a changed world they will open their eyes and see that there is hope.
He can pull it off because he is put up against the battle hardened pessimism of Hillary Clinton. Clinton is to far down the road of gloom and doom to now change her message to one of hopeful optimism. Shes the same old politician just trying to re-invent the same old message. Which only empowers the same old insiders. In fact I think I've heard her give this "same old" speech.
This Obama tactic would likely work with a battle hardened McCain as well.
Maybe you and I should open a political consulting business.
