All I can say is that if my preacher started preaching anti-American or anti-black sermons, I would be out of there so fast, and I would never go back. I would find it very offensive.
I hope Obama doesn’t really believe that stuff, because he has a good chance at being our next president. But he knew the guy for 20 years or so? He knew what his pastor stood for. He knew his beliefs, and he still went to listen to the guy year after year. This makes me wonder if he shares any of the same beliefs. You don’t listen to a pastor over and over that you do not agree with…do you? I know I wouldn’t.
Another observation. Obama has been cool and stern during his campaigning. He has been the ice man. When he was confronted with this topic, that is the first time I have seen him flinch and try to dance around a subject.
I want the hear Obama say “I do not believe America caused Aids to kill Blacks.†“I do not believe America deserved 9/11.†And since he has such a big influence over the Black community, he should add “I don’t believe these things and neither should you.â€
He has an opportunity to stop this kind of hate because he is a man of great influence. Lets see if he uses this opportunity to do that. If he does it could help stop the hate. If not, it could mean deep down he really believes this. The ball is in his court. Lets see how he plays it.
