Of course it is

We all tend to make excuses for our choices and weigh what we believe are the least of evils.

No one has spoken more vehemently against religion than Art. You would think that he would find Obama's association with a more or less fundamentalist Baptist church extremely distasteful, what with all the praying, praising god, accepting Jesus Christ as savior and being reborn, etc. Yet, we have not heard a word on the subject.

Jimmy Carter made Bush look like a heathen but he passed muster with the same democrats that go on and on about the Bush association with the religious right.

I have no idea what Obama believes but I also know that Unitarian presidents ahve been elected and they are not much different from atheists. Why does any candidate feel compelled to associate himself with religious leaders? I have never liked to see this with any candidate and Obama should drop this preacher in his tracks if he wants to be our leader

Would an atheist democratic candidate lure Art away from the Obama camp? I suspect it would be compelling, if the atheist had a snowball's chance of winning.

Politics makes strange bedfellows.
