A 1950's car that got 35-40 mpg - The Nash Metropolitan
I am a gearhead so I like to read about cars. I am a fan of the Hudson’s. Some of their cars, like the Hornet, were ahead of their time.
The late 50’s Hudson- Nash Metropolitan coupe was also ahead of its time. I have read that it got between 35 and 40 mpg. This was in the late 50’s. And it was heavier than today’s cars of comparable size.
So when I see a car manufacture proudly advertising their car gets 35 mpg, I am not impressed. We can do better than that.
