No one put a gun to their heads and made them buy an SUV...
Or are you saying that these folks put a gun to the companies' heads and forced them to sell them SUVs?
And where's MY "freedom of choice" when everything I buy goes up in price because everybody but me is driving around in an SUV?
And how did we possibly survive before there were SUVs? It wasn't all that long ago, remember?
"Elitiist anti-family take"---my ASS. I'm happy to spend my tax dollars to send your kids to school, but do you expect me to pay for their ride to soccer practice and ballet lessons too? SUVs are a luxury, they cost more and consume more, and if you want to have one, by all means get one, but don't come singing the blues to me if it costs too much to operate them, because believe me, I pay the same for gas as you do, even if I don't own one. And I pay more for tomatoes, milk, and breakfast cereal because of them whether I drive one or not. So does my neighbor and she doesn't even have a license. But she does have a grandson in the Middle East keeping your SUV topped up and rolling to Little League.
Quit blaming others for your problems and expecting them to bail you out because of your self-indulgence, how about YOU accepting some personal responsibility for YOUR actions, for a change.
Have a nice day.
